Focus on the Texas Revolution

The Texas Revolution, 1835-1836, was a fast-but-furious fight that resulted in Texas breaking away from Mexico and forming an independent republic. Key events like the Battle of the Alamo, the Texas Declaration of Independence, and the Battle of San Jacinto, all took place in late winter and spring of 1836. As Texas's independence season approaches, the Van Zandt County Historical Commission has updated their ever-changing display cases in the county courthouse and the main library in Canton, highlighting the Texas Revolution. The courthouse display features a period cannon ball and sword.

Check the displays out if you're in the courthouse or library.
